Caught between the equator and the pole
A restless mind is something
A darkened cell of feeling glum and so dull
These dead calms come to nothing
So what am I to do to fight the doldrums?
And what am I to do to keep these walls from
Covering the sky and hiding the sun?
I feel I could go blind, deaf and dumb
So what am I to do when nothing can be done?
Until the end I’ll beat my fists on the door
Locked and bolted tight
With no way out, I lay my head on the floor
And search for a ray of light
So what am I to do to fight the doldrums?
And what am I to do to keep these walls from
Covering the sky and hiding the sun?
I feel I could go blind, deaf and dumb
So what am I to do when nothing can be done?
Can’t interrupt the earth’s rotation
Rearrange
Latitude adds to my frustration
Bring a change
I speak unto this mountain to be moved
It’s in the way I see it through
So what am I to do to fight the doldrums?
And what am I to do to keep these walls from
Covering the sky and hiding the sun?
I feel I could go blind, deaf and dumb
So what am I to do?
